Memories (Michael!Dean x Dead!Reader)
I looked down in silence, watching the unassuming people below us, mindless men and women, aimless and insignificant passing through like ants in a line. Noise was scarce but still noticeable from this height, faint sounds of traffic and the overlap gibbering voices coming from them all. I watched as plenty of people pushed their ways through to go in the same direction as others, an innate self-serving desire to be ahead of a complete stranger just as irrelevant as the others around them. Yet their own egos, this world’s customs, gave the very audacity and illusion that there were some more important than others, and thrived off the foolish notion, ignoring all of father’s flaws within them as a whole. Yet I found myself often watching them from places like this. Hi rises, lavish areas dipped in gold and useless trinkets, draped in the very allusion of self-importance that they had placed value in. Before, I had someone beside me, watching gleefully next to me, interested in the

Mai’s smiles were noticeably rare, which was something both Zuko and Katara knew well from her time in the palace. What the two also knew were these smiles came at the mention of Ty-Lee, much to the entertainment of the royal couple and close friends. She hated it; she hated them for pointing it out because now it was obvious. Mai could feel the heavy somber mood of hers lift at the sight of her letters or even being the subject of a casual conversation. She had known Zuko and Ty-Lee had grown closer as well over the years, a more optimistic person in his life being something he was painfully in need of, knowing despite Katara’s constant desire for hope and the good of people, she was quite the realist. And it was her realism that made Mai hate speaking to the Fire Lady alone the most. She was quite good at getting under people’s skin, much like Ty-Lee is, able to point out the constant agonizingly silent pining that came from Mai. Just trust me for once on this. She says. She rolled

Days passed by quickly as the world was slowly beginning to piece itself back together. Ba Sing Sae was liberated, Iroh holding the Earth Kingdom flag over his head high, soaking in the righteous victory of its people. Through the smoldering remains of war, the newly liberated screamed freely, celebrating the end to the long and tortuous war. Songs of praises echoed through the three walls of Ba Sing Sae, class having no place for the peace that was for everyone who lived there. Music thrived, blaring once more as Fire Nation and Earth Kingdom came together to dance relishing in the crumbling nation, victory being the only thing on the people’s mind. Suki listened the music relief and pride overwhelming her as she looked over what she and so many others had freed. Kiyoshi warriors were quick to keep the peace that they just achieved, keeping their enemies at bay, Ty-Lee’s tactics becoming a lifesaver for many of the warriors. Satisfied, Suki came to Iroh, a bow low to her new mentor.

Aang’s decent was slow, yet the winds sped fiercely around him, commanding attention from all who could hear its devastating howl. Eyes of soldiers from either side were cast on him, in awe of his sheer power. The tides fell low as if to bow to his might, as he gathered a large mass of water above him. His hands rose, like a mighty conductor of the natural forces, bending the large bulbous water with ease as he let it fall freely through the nation, attacking the razing fires that were eating away at people’s homes and lands. Along with rainfall, so fell relief and a newfound serenity. Once he made his way to the ground, all but the whipping winds around him and the quick patterning of rain was heard. Enemies watched in fear of his massive strength as the winds slowed around him. Calmly, he made his way over to the large statue of Ozai, his power and might immortalized in stone, flames bursting forth from his mouth. The Avatar stomped twice, massive cracks encircling the statue before

Silence was prevalent throughout the palace as screams echoed, raw and painful along with the remainders of electricity crackling in the hot air. Ty-Lee bit her lip, her heart sinking as the sounds of firebending overwhelmed the air again, the harsh sounds of high fires overtaking the surroundings again. Still, she stood with guards, awaiting and vigilant for the enemy to come from underground. Quickly, the ambushers snuck their way on, unaware of the guards awaiting them. Nobles and loyalists came through the rooms and secret areas of the royal rooms. Smirks and quiet hushes accompanying them, splitting apart to cover more ground. Quickly and efficiently, the royal guards and staff attacked the intruders. The staff used beads and fruits to trip the invading forces, knocking them over and capturing them in makeshift ties of bedsheets. Many were accompanied by a guard quick to apprehend them. Panicked warnings of the enemy were all over the palace as they were snatched left and right.

Toph concentrated as she trusted the swordsman along with their allies to keep the enemy at bay as she pushed back the ships the best she could, disturbing the earth at the shores pushing back the invading forces towards the ships again, keeping them all from being crowded more than they already were. Sokka was quick to slash through the enemy, using both his sword and what he learned from the Kiyoshi warriors, throwing traitors off their balance, tossing a few unlucky men and women into the crowd of enemies. Quickly he eliminated a mass of enemy spears, abandoned spearheads and weapons littered at their feet or stolen by his hand and given to his own. Fearlessly he faced looked in the eye of firebenders before blocking their chi in their arms and taking them down. Multiple teams of other earth and waterbenders made their ways to the ships wanting to alleviate Toph’s efforts as massive waves tipped over a ship and others made their ways in, commandeering them capturing the forces on

The thought of Azula’s arrival nipped at the heels of all who were in the Fire Nation, evacuation prep moved along faster, a heavy presence of what’s to come looming over all the citizens. Firebenders all over felt the power slowly increasing in their bodies. They were moving quicker, desired to expend more energy; untrained benders producing larger flames than they could usually handle. Iroh opened his arms out to the sun feeling the energy course through him as he deeply breathed in. He knew there was far too much at stake coming the following day. He looked over towards the ocean, thinking of his nephew back in the Fire Nation. Iroh turned to see Jeong Jeong behind him, a solemn look on his face. “Tomorrow brings ruthless destruction.” He said. “I know.” Iroh confirmed sadly. “This goes against your principles. But find it in your heart to understand, we will make way for a new world to form. From the ashes we make, life will be nurtured and made anew.” “That is the only

Iroh watched as Aang struggled with his thoughts as he forced himself to try and clear his thoughts. Iroh placed a hand on his shoulder gently, an encouraging smile. “Don’t force it.” Slowly the elderly man sat with, groaning from the small strain in his knees. “Tell me what troubles you, Aang. Perhaps we can clear these thoughts together.” Aang cast his eyes away from the kind man letting out a small sigh. “I guess I have a lot on my mind.” He admitted. “As we all do.” Iroh affirmed. “It’s just the war is coming closer. And I don’t feel like anything has really changed!” Iroh cocked a brow at the young monk. “I mean I know everything has been changing! I just feel like…like….” “Like you haven’t changed?” Iroh asked gingerly. Aang’s face became sorrowful as he bit his lip. “Everyone is becoming something new, Katara’s even Fire Nation royalty now!” A sharp mournful laugh leapt out of him at that. “And I’m just…how I’ve always been.” He stared at his feet. “It’s almost as if

Zuko’s heart slammed against his chest as he set his gaze on his ex-girlfriend. Despite all the hardships he had been told about hers and Ty-Lee’s journey, he noticed she still held her stoic gaze that she was grown accustomed to having. The crown had never felt heavier on his head at this moment and his mouth had run dry as he thought of something to say to her. Instead, she bared the brunt of that burden by speaking first. “You look well.” Her voice was softer than he had imagined it would be as she bowed to him as if she were afraid of saying the wrong thing. Zuko’s face relaxed as he made his way towards her, getting a better look at her. Her arm was under her cloak, which only weighed on his heart more knowing what Azula had done to her. She followed his eyes and gave a non-committal shrug, yet he knew there was pain behind her steel demeanor. He had known Mai and him had not seen eye to eye on a lot of things, which lead to fighting especially when he first came back, but he

Zuko sighed feeling the weight shift beside him, in bed, a subconscious twinge and pull towards her. She was serene as she began to drift off, her hands limp against the pillow beside her head. Through their newfound feelings, Zuko was quick to realize neither of them had a clue on what to do next. He felt comfortable kissing her. He loved her lips on his, the burning she left behind as they parted. The very warmth it seemed that only she was capable of giving him. He watched as her fingers twitched slightly as her breathing deepened, sleep taking her. He still envied her, she didn’t have the same burden of nightmares that he had. She could go to sleep much faster than he ever could. The haunting phantom slick of his father’s blood running through his fingers always jerked him awake. Since they had kissed, it wasn’t hard for her to be more affectionate towards him once they were in the room alone. Her hands always fitting so well in his. His eyes gravitated to the silhouette of her
